CHANGE of PERSPECTIVE
Carsten Goering's (*1982) works are anything but unambiguous -- much more they are an illusion. Depending on the perspective from which they are viewed, the paintings change with the movement. In a way, the artist invites us to play with the works. He creates a dynamic painting and deceives the eye of the viewer. That this form of illusion comes about is due to the lenticular effect: an optical illusion in which light refraction creates extraordinary and three-dimensional effects.
Goering's art is refreshingly different. From excitingly colorful to soothingly monochromatic, to mysteriously dark tones, not only the effect but also the colors of his works leave a unique impression.
The artist studied at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and was a master student of Prof. Ingo Meller.
